Improving thyroid cancer care in Pakistan: embracing the ATA 2025 paradigm

Muhammad Numair Younis.

Abstract
The treatment strategies for differentiated thyroid cancer have evolved remarkably in line with the growing evidence base and recently culminated in the “2025 American Thyroid Association Management Guidelines for Adult Patients with Differentiated Thyroid Cancer” that emphasize personalized, risk-adapted care over uniform treatment strategies. Among other options, radioiodine therapy, a cornerstone of DTC management, continues to play a fundamental role in treatment protocols. Variations in clinical practice and healthcare resources in Pakistan stresses adopting standardized, multidisciplinary management of DTC. Embracing the ATA 2025 endorsements offers an opportunity to improve patient outcomes by optimizing resource utilization and provides basis for the development of national consensus guidelines while nurturing innovation and multidisciplinary collaboration in thyroid cancer management.

Key words: ATA 2025, Differentiated Thyroid Cancer, Personalized Medicine, Multidisciplinary Team
